One Week Game I Made for New Years Game Jam.

Directions:

If you have ever played poly bridge its pretty similar. The goal is to build a bridge that can support its own weight as well and the players weight while remaining under the given budget.

How to Play:

Left click : Place bar and select bar from top left

Right click: Delete Current bar or delete placed point.

If you are deleting a already placed bar you must right click the point its attached to which will delete all bars its attached too.

Side Notes:  In order for one beam to support another it must be attached to a pre existing node or red point. if you try to just place a beam on the road it will not actually be supported.

Yes I understand if you hit stop it restarts your entire progress on the bridge. I wasn't really sure how to save an entire game state with objects and everything. If you have and feedback on how to do that it would be much appreciated thanks

Hints:

Level 1: Try to build supports at every point lots of triangles

Level 2: I made this level specifically to send it. Figure out a way to launch the ball to the other side instead of making a bridge across.

level 3: Try using the bouncer material to bounce the boulders off the bridge.

Material

There is 5 types of material and I will describe how to use each down below:

Road: This material looks like a road and is 1 of 2 material the player actually interacts with

Planks: Wood looking bars that can stretch far and provide decent support also the cheapest material

Beams: these are more sturdier Wood bars they can't stretch as far and cost a lot more these are grey like beams

Bouncer: This material is green and can bounce projectiles off itself to avoid unwanted weight on the bridge. they cost a decent amount and can stretch fairly far

Speeder: This material is stripped and can interact with the player and give him a speed boost across it. It cost a fair amount and is very important in level 2

I've never really built a physical heavy game like this this tutorial helped a lot with creating the mechanics for the game
